How to Make Bryan Johnson's Super Veggie at Home
Super Veggie is one of Bryan Johnson's go-to longevity lunches — he eats it almost every day. In this Blueprint letter, the team shared how to make it at home.
Ingredients
- 150 g cauliflower
- 250 g broccoli
- 50 g shiitake or maitake mushrooms
- 1 clove of garlic, peeled
- 3 g ginger
- 150 g cooked black lentils
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Bryan's variations: he sometimes adds the juice of 1 lime and 1–4 tbsp of fermented foods — cabbage, kimchi, or beets.
Instructions
- Chop the cauliflower, broccoli, ginger, and garlic.
- Boil the cauliflower, broccoli, ginger, garlic, and mushrooms together for 7–9 minutes until soft.
- Add the lentils to a bowl as the base.
- Top with the boiled veggies.
- Finish with cumin, hemp seeds, apple cider vinegar, and extra virgin olive oil.
Smoothie-bowl variant
If you prefer, blend everything into a Super Veggie smoothie bowl:
- Add the boiled veggies, all other ingredients, and a little water to a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Top with hemp seeds, extra virgin olive oil, and high-quality dark chocolate (optional).
